Hhi friends, my question is as follows.:

repairing the picture of thunder 250 (Cris Hartono-R.I.P), noted that the engine is the same as suzuki GN 250 (Suzuki Intruder 250 in Brazil, which is no longer manufactured) and my question is whether the Suzuki Indonesian manufactures bikes with this engine or if these are changes that you make it on their own, because here is very difficult to achieve an engine such as "legally". 

If even a change, many adaptations are needed to plug the engine under the EN 125? 

A strong Brazilian Huges to all brothers.

Thunder EN125 is YES 125 ED/YES 125 ED Cargo at your country,the different is thunder EN125 have 5 transmision speed and YES 125 have 4...

what you see @ cris hartono thunder 250 cc is originaly manufactured by suzuki internasional and no longer manufactured and distributed in indonesia

to plug engine of 250 to EN 125 it is impossible because it made many changes to the frame.

so it is different engine, between EN125 and GS 250,

GS 250 named intruder at internasional market..

No BOETHO, the Brazilian version of EN 125 have 5 trasmission speed, like another versions arround the world.

I agree with majority comments above, 250 cc engines were ever manufactured in Indonesia for several years, they were identical with both GS 250 for international branding and NG 250 for brazil.

I think to plug entire 250 cc engine within EN 125 or YES 125 (both are identical) frame is still feasible, of course the engine frame has to be modified and adjusted properly to make it fit seated on the engine frame.

Suzuki Indonesia does not manufacture the motorcycle anymore, it is manufactured and assembly completely in Japan or CBU as what Boetho has explained previously (CMIIW)

Yes! It is very hard to adopt the GS250 engine to the EN125 backbone frame due to it's differencies in many things especially it's dimensional which is bigger than EN125. I would advice you to use the GS250 directly and not to trying adopt the machine into EN125 frame...not worth enough I think Ketawa ampe rontok!

Saat Thunder 250 masuk ke Indonesia, saya sempat bertanya-tanya, mengapa bukan Marauder 250? Pertanyaan ini wajar karena Marauder sudah diproduksi untuk pasar Amerika. Dengan demikian Suzuki tak perlu capek-capek lagi membangun sasis dan body baru. Nyatanya Suzuki Indomobil R2 tetap setia dengan moto “Inovasi Tiada Henti”. Tak enak rasanya kalau mengimpor mentah-mentah. Apalagi belum tentu Chop-Cruiser itu cocok dengan orang Indonesia.

Tentu saja model chop-cruiser kurang akrab oleh awam. Mungkin hanya disenangi kalangan tertentu alias hobbies. Mereka itu mengendarai motor dengan gaya sedikit santai dan sesekali turing keluar kota. Padahal jalan-jalan di Indonesia memerlukan jenis motor sport yang lebih gesit sehingga wheelbase (sumbu roda) tidak mungkin sepanjang motor-motor cruiser. Belum lagi saat itu pabrikan Honda sedang sukses dengan Tiger (Classic-nya). Kehadiran Thunder 250 yang lebih bernuansa sport turing atau touring-cruiser dianggap lebih masuk akal. Apalagi dengan embel-embel motor sport dengan cc terbesar di kelasnya, pihak Suzuki begitu yakin bisa menghadang dominasi Honda Tiger yang hingga kini hanya bertahan di cc 200.

Nyatanya, Thunder 250 hanya sanggup bertahan sewindhu. Motor ini dianggap cocok untuk turing saja. Banyak kalangan memang senang dengan tenaga dan kenikmatannya dalam perjalanan luar kota, namun mengeluhkan pengendaliannya dalam kemacetan kota. Apalagi perawatan motor ini lumayan merepotkan karena mesinnya yang memang 1 generasi lebih maju dari Tiger. Dengan 4 klep dan 1 silinder khas Suzuki, bengkel mana yang mampu mengerjakannya pada masa-masa itu? Di kota saja sulit apalagi di kampung. Belum lagi sparepartnya yang mahal karena masih diimport. Serbuan Yamaha dengan Scorpio yang tidak kalah bertenaga dan jelas jauh lebih gesit akhirnya membuat Thunder 250 cabut dari gelanggang. Suzuki lalu meluncurkan Thunder 125 sebagai penggantinya.

Namun Thunder 125 tak mungkin bertarung sendirian sementara Yamaha, Honda dan Kawasaki dengan 2 hingga tiga jagoan. Marauder 250 mungkin jawaban instan. Dengan mudah motor ini diproduksi karena cetakannya sudah ada. Apalagi dengan mesin tipe GZ250 yang sama persis dengan Thunder 250 alias GS250, bisa dipastikan sisa-sisa produksi Thunder 250 bisa digunakan kembali. Apalagi sasisnya hampir tak jauh beda. Tinggal modif dikit dan pasang kaki dan bodi. Pihak pabrikan pun tak usah banyak promosi lagi soal kemampuan mesinnya. Di kawasan Amerika motor ini cukup favorit karena model, perawatan, kenyamanan, dan kemudahan pengendaraannya. Saking favoritnya motor ini banyak pula digunakan oleh kaum Hawa dalam maupun luar kota. Hanya saja, Suzuki harus ekstra waspada. Sebab pengalaman Honda Panthom 200cc yang memiliki model dan segmen yang kurang lebih sama sangat seret dari sisi penjualan. Padahal merek ini dikeluarkan resmi pihak Honda dan memiliki back up purna jual dan service yang lumayan. Nah apakah Suzuki siap dengan segala konsekuensinya?

since the backbone frame of GSX 250 is different from that of EN 125, there should be some adjusment to plug the GSX 250 engine into the EN 125 motorcycle....
My suggestion if you want to have GSX 250 engine on your bike, you should adopt the GSX backbone as well..... so, you'll have YES 125 look with 250cc power....ha ha ha... just kidding...
I've been using this GSX 250 for about 1 year....
Hardly no complain for the acceleration, top speed, comfortability, handling, etc... and certainly the look, specially when you use a wide tyre, and some treatments to make it look shiny..
The only thing is, a little bit more difficult to have some of the GSX's parts than those of YES 125...
finally, I strongly recommend you to have a GSX 250 to accompany your YES 125.....
